Our Products
Our product is a biodegradable, spray-on occlusive barrier that prevents transpiration, protects gas exchange, and allows light to penetrate. The product is a biphasic emulsion of oils and water, using natural occlusives such as lanolin, glycerin, and vegetable oils, and emulsifiers such as polysorbate to facilitate leaf spread. This product focuses on safety, biodegradability, and agricultural compatibility, having no asphyxiant properties for leaves nor obstructing photosynthesis, unlike other products such as polymers/petroleum-based sprays.
The active ingredient is a breathable film over the cuticle. The moisture-holding properties of lanolin and glycerin, a humectant that pulls moisture out of the air, enhance leaf hydration. Base oils (sunflower oil or corn oil) enhance spreading, adhesion, and prevent evaporation. A small quantity of water, along with an emulsifier, prevents separation of the solution for spray application. It dries thinly to help promote leaf turgidity.
